Nightclub dancing incorporates two very different styles. The first is fast, freestyle dancing that is done to rock or disco. At clubs, dances, and parties people move to the pulsing beat for hours. It's a great release and very good exercise. The other nightclub style is slow dancing. You move around the dance floor turning and swaying in each other's arms.

Nightclub two-step--not to be confused with country two-step--is a slow, romantic dance. Master instructors Robert Royston and Laureen Baldovi teach the dance from the ground up. First they teach the rhythm and basic step to music, their backs to you so you can follow easily. Then they show you how to do that move with a partner, then they add additional basic moves like the side-cross-side traveling step and some simple turns and open breaks. During later segments, they get progressively more complicated and teach a variety of graceful, intermediate moves, including new turns, open breaks, and crossovers.
Dance champions Royston and Baldovi, dressed more casually here than in their other videos ("Spin her 'til the floor smokes" T-shirts instead of costumes), are excellent instructors. They clearly explain and demonstrate moves, technique, and style so that beginners feel comfortable and capable.
